PHASE 1 - Acadian Peninsula Adaptation Project (AP)

As part of the Acadian Peninsula Adaptation Project (AP), VALORĒS is initiating the community mobilization process and the establishment of a working committee for the Municipality of Neguac. The AP Adaptation Project is a regional initiative aimed at identifying and implementing measures to reduce the impacts of erosion and coastal flooding in at-risk communities.

This first phase aims to form a voluntary citizen committee representative of Neguac in order to:

  • Present the project and its objectives;

  • Share vulnerability maps (erosion and flooding);

  • Identify and prioritize adaptation sectors and actions;

  • Collectively validate the proposed directions.

If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact the Municipality of Neguac at 506-776-3950 or send an email to info@neguac.com.

CONSTRUCTION ON THE STYMIEST STREET

The Municipality of Neguac would like to inform residents that construction work will take place on Stymiest Street in June and July. This work, related to drainage and the paving of an approximately 800 m section of road starting from Main Street, is funded by the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, which will reimburse 90% of the expenses incurred, up to a maximum of $716,000, under its Provincial-Municipal Highway Partnership Program (PMHP).

For everyone’s safety, we ask that you limit your travel on this street and use alternative routes whenever possible until the work is completed.

The Municipality thanks you in advance for your understanding and patience.
